My Week of Outfits | November 9 – 15
Back in Mississippi and jumping right into a new job. This is a historic moment for me, guys. This week I leave my scrubs in their drawer and don my first ever office wear! If you didn’t know, I have been a Physical Therapist Assistant for the past 10 years and was laid off earlier this year due to Covid 🙁 . I had been wanting to change careers for a while, but still not the best way to exit your profession.
So, I am currently in a transition phase of switching careers, hence the office job. I am planning/hoping to attend Sonography (Ultrasound) school next year. In the meantime, I still have to pay those pesky bills so I have taken a seasonal position in an office. You will get a front-row seat to my first attempts at ‘business casual’ outfits.
Disclaimer: I am a work in progress. My closet is not 100% ethical and sustainable clothing, yet! That is definitely my goal, but I also think it would be irresponsible to get rid of the clothes I already have from my pre-ethical shopping days. For any piece that is not from an ethical, sustainable brand (or out of stock 🙁 ), I will link a similar option that is!
Not actually what I wore this day. Monday was my two year wedding Anniversary. So, this is the outfit I wore two years ago today!! I love this dress and wish I could wear it every Monday! It would definitely make Monday’s less Monday-y. My favorite part of this dress was the back! Why I decided to wear a sleeveless wedding dress in November, your guess is as good as mine… but worth it.
We had a super low key wedding (5 guests), so I didn’t want to go nuts with my dress. I found this dress from BHLDN and I think I spent around $900 (okay, I went a little nuts). I wish I had known more about ethical fashion when I was shopping for my wedding dress because there are some BEAUTIFUL sustainable wedding dress brands out there!
Wear Your Love has some absolutely stunning wedding dresses at a similar price point to BHLDN but are made with organic cotton and bamboo. I will link a few dresses from them that are similar to mine but their long sleeve dresses make me want to renew my vows only after two years so I can buy one of their dresses… is that wrong?
This sweater is one of the sweaters I mentioned in my Sweaters for Fall & Winter | 10 Sustainable Brands post. There are SO many cute and cozy sweaters in that post, so don’t forget to check it out.

These ‘pants’ are actually a jumpsuit that I bought from Vetta Capsule. I think they look so cute underneath this thrifted cropped sweater! The only problem with this outfit… it made a trip to the bathroom a total strip down affair and limited fluid intake necessary.

I got this GORGEOUS sweater from The Merchantile of Scottsdale when I was in Phoenix visiting my family. If you are in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, make sure to stop by and check them out. They have a variety of wonderful products from local merchants and host cool workshops!
